“CHRIST OUR PATH OF LIGHT”

I John 1:7

. . . but if we walk in the light as He Himself is in the light, we have fellowship with one another, and the blood of Jesus His Son cleanses us from all sin.

God’s plan for us is to live in fellowship with God and His Son and one another and secondly to remain clean from sin’s defilement. We accomplish this by walking in the light of God’s countenance. The light exposes our sin and we confess it. If we confess our sins, He is faithful and righteous to forgive us our sins and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness. I John 1:9

Faith is absolutely indispensable in walking with God. For we walk by faith, not by sight. II Corinthians 5:7. Our faith is in a God who is:

• Eternal - He sees the end from the beginning.

• All powerful - He can do all things.

• All knowing - He sees the end from the beginning and all things in between.

• All loving - He has a personal, loving concern for you. He cares what happens.

• All wise - He knows how to work out your problems - the means which best accomplishes His purpose.

One of my favorite passages is Proverbs 3:5,6 - Trust in the Lord with all thine heart and lean not unto thine own understanding. In all thy ways acknowledge Him and He shall direct thy paths. God alone knows the way that I should take. I like to look at it like this:

HE shall direct thy paths - He - our great God. What comfort this brings!

He SHALL direct thy paths - His direction is a sure thing!

He shall DIRECT thy paths - assures us of His guidance!

He shall direct THY paths - this makes it personal!

He shall direct thy PATHS - includes all our ways of life.

As I look back on this past year how thankful I am that He not only has directed my path, but has walked it with me. My prayer for each of you is that your light will shine brightly in 2001 and, as I’ve said before, to do this you must stay close to the power source!
